Dear women

Today I cried.
Today I cried because my period pains this morning are so bad it felt like my insides were giving up on me. Today I cried because carrying the pains that become evolutionary and generational burdens is what apparently makes us as women strong. & it does.
But what I think makes us strongest is the fact that day after day, we face the men & governments & people in power who constantly make it harder and harder to live as a woman, or as a person with a uterus; whilst dealing with the daily pains and strength it takes to simply exist as a woman. This is not politics, this is a war against women. Everyday I wake up more and more in shock at what I see, what I have to go through, & what we have to go through. It’s exhausting.
But I also cried because that pain poured into how I felt when I read the news of women in America & all over the world get their rights to safe abortions torn from them in an instant. A flash.
& as I sit there crying over the pain within my uterus that I have had to dread and bare every month of every year, the uterus that men have expected us to carry their children in, I also cry for the women who will have to now endure endless pain because they now have no say in what they want to do with their bodies, because of those same men.

Pregnancy is beautiful, natural, hard, life changing and one of the most incredible experiences on this earth that brings tears of joy for all those involved. Nothing makes me happier seeing a happy, health family - IF the person carrying the child has chosen to take that journey for themselves. Otherwise, it is whatever they want it to be. It doesn’t matter the story, it doesn’t matter how it happened. It’s a choice that should safely be made without judgment. We should NOT be shaming people for accidentally getting pregnant, nor should we be shaming or blaming those who have been assaulted. The only blame should be directed to the courts and names who strip humans of their rights.
My heart breaks for the women of America as well as all of the other countries around the world who have been fighting for rights that should of been given to them without a thought.
They can’t stop abortions. Only safe ones.
